Today we finished "Kids' Club" VBS. Our theme was kindness and our Bible Story was the Good Samaritan. Lynne came up with great idea of having the kids act out the story. It was fantastic! Stephen Quinlan was the traveler who was robbed. He gave an academy award performance that had Matthew laughing several times in the audience. The Root Cellar kids played the parts of the robbers, the priest, the Levite and the Good Samaritan. We had simple props and costumes and they had a great time participating in the story. Matthew shared the truth about Jesus Christ with the children and one child, Akual, quoted John 3:16 for the class.

Tonight we participated in the community dinner. The Jacksons, a family of 10 from a local church, cooked all the food and 3 of the daughters performed a dance routine with flags for us. A couple from another church acted as hosts. Mostly it was kids who came and it felt like one great big family dinner. After the Jackson girls danced, all the kids from the Root Cellar did "Riding 'Round the Pony" for us. It wasn't long before Kate, Emma, Allyx and Stephen were dancing and singing too. It was a wonderful way to end the week.
